Only Reliance Jio can make the impossible possible! Yes, because this telecommunications company from Mukesh Ambani is bringing laptops to the market this time. According to sources, the price of Jio’s laptop will be the lowest in India and the name is Jio Book.

For the past few days, Jio has been working to bring 4G LTE to every corner of the country. Jio’s usual look at the device with a slightly larger screen, so that access to this cellular connection can be granted very easily. Reliance Jio is all set to launch a low-cost laptop.

Reliance Jio started the idea of gifting laptops to Indians for less money a long time ago. In an interview with the Economic Times in 2018, Miguel Nunes, senior director of the product management department at Qualcomm Technologies, said that Reliance Jio will join his company to launch laptops with cellular connectivity in India.

According to a recent XDA report, Reliance Jio is developing laptops based on Qualcomm hardware. However, Mukesh Ambani’s company is moving away from the previous plan and changing other components and software.

JioBook Specification:

According to the XDA report, Jio’s laptop will not be powered by Windows 10. In that place it has Google’s Android OS, which in Jio’s language will be called JioOS. To keep the cost of laptops within the reach of the middle-class Indian, a cheaper Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 (sm6125) processor will be used, which also includes an 11nm chipset. This Snapdragon 665 includes a built-in 4G LTE modem, the Snapdragon X12 – which will help JioBook laptops expand cellular connectivity using Reliance Jio’s 4G network.

Jio has entered into an agreement with Bluebank Communications Technology of China to develop this JioBook laptop. The BlueBank website clearly states that they have also created the KaiOS operating system, which serves as JioPhone’s operating system in India.

The XDA report further states that the JioBook laptops were launched by Mukesh Ambani’s company in September 2020 and the JioBook laptop will appear in the first quarter of 2021. The report claims that this laptop will be given a display of 1366×768 resolution. The JioBook laptop also has an HDMI connector, WiFi, Bluetooth and Qualcomm audio chip.

It will have multiple Jio App built-in applications like JioStore, JioMeet, JioPages.  Microsoft’s Teams, Edge and Office – all essential for laptops – will all be pre-installed. Although Jio has not yet announced the launch of the JioBook laptop, sources said that the JioBook laptop will be launched in India at the end of April this year.
